BIOGRAPHY

He was born in Montevideo, Uruguay and since his early youth had a strong inclination for the visual arts and sporadically participated in drawing courses and painting workshops. Later, during a long period he develops an intense professional and business activity, initiating his formal plastic formation in the year 2000 with Professor Sergio Viera. Later, he started to take part of the workshop of Professor Gerardo Acuña.

His artwork developed until the end of 2008 is mainly figurative with a basic influence of the Torres García School roots. During this period, the artwork revolves around the use of classic principles transmitted by the Atelier Torres García in terms of structure, composition, shape and tone of color that allowed him to evolve searching for an artistic path of his own.

In the later stage of this period, he orients the path to abstraction based on geometric structures, seeking balance, harmony of forms and colors, incorporating mixed technique. The artworks contain different materials such as burlap, canvas, textured paper, cardboard, metal, etc. In some cases, existing forms are incorporated and in others, they were made to give balance to each piece.

The essence of the artist was sought to externalize without pretending to convey concrete meanings, but materializing the sensibility inside, bringing the viewer to the artwork’s balances, good harmonic forms and sensitive colors. The artist has defined this first abstract work as "sensitive geometry", having up to now escaped from orthodox geometry; in many cases leaning towards freer expressions.
